The Nilambur Teak Museum, the first of its kind in the world, offers an in-depth exploration of the history, cultivation, and cultural significance of teak wood. Established in 1995 as a sub-centre of the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), this museum celebrates Kerala's pioneering role in teak plantation and sustainable forestry, making it an essential stop for nature enthusiasts, historians, and researchers alike.

A visit to the Teak Museum takes you through a fascinating journey of teak's past and present, from its historical uses in shipbuilding to its scientific advancements in propagation. The museum's entrance features the sprawling root system of a 55-year-old teak tree, symbolizing the deep connection between Nilambur and teak cultivation.
