Utharam Kayam, Thiruvananthapuram

Utharam Kayam is a dense forest teeming with vegetation, located on the lap of the Agasthya Hills, amidst the forests of Neyyar. Home to numerous species of medicinal plants and rich in avian life, this exotic destination transports you back to a primitive era. Under the management of the Department of Forests and Wildlife, Kerala State, accommodation is now available here in the form of a tree house or Erumadam. Utharam Kayam can be accessed by taking a boat from the Neyyar Reservoir to Komba. After alighting at Komba and trekking for around 2 kilometres through the murky forest, you reach Utharam Kayam. The ideal destination for adventure seekers and trekking enthusiasts, nearby attractions include Meenmutti Waterfalls.
