Awareness Programmes

A successful execution of Responsible Tourism in a destination needs proper awareness programmes and campaigns. These programmes decide the future of Responsible Tourism in a destination. Public participation is needed for the successful organization of these programmes.
With the aim of creating awareness about tourism and Responsible Tourism, the Responsible Tourism Mission organises awareness programmes for various stakeholders that include LSGS, Kudumbashree, Hotels, Resorts, Homestays, farm stays, Farmers, craftsmen etc. The success of the project depends on the public participation in field level activities. Responsible Tourism conducted awareness programmes in Kollam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Pathanamthitta. 650 people participated in these awareness programmes. The Mission will conduct an awareness programme in Kozhikode too. The State government decided to spread RT programmes all over the State.
An awareness campaign for local community members and stakeholders including Kudumbashree, Hotels, Resorts, Homestays, farm stays, Farmers and Handicraft makers was already conducted during the financial year 2016-17.
In 2018, it focuses on awareness creation among LSG and other stakeholders.
