Anchuthengu Fort

There is a lot of history packed behind these walls. Built by the British East India Company at Anchuthengu in the late 17th century, the fort once stood at an important point on Kerala’s coast, linking trade, sea routes and the company’s growing presence in the region. Today, its high laterite walls, bastions and old-world character offer a glimpse into a very different chapter of Anchuthengu’s story.
