Some parts of Mankulam are better reached on four wheels. Jeeps take the rougher tracks into the hills, crossing streams and winding through forest roads towards waterfalls, viewpoints and other corners of this rugged landscape. It is less about getting somewhere quickly and more about the ride itself - bumps, bends, water and plenty of green along the way.
