Sree Subramanya Swami Temple, Harippad

Popularly known as South Palani or Dakshina Palani, Sree Subramanya Swami temple at Harippad in Alappuzha district is one of the oldest shrines in Kerala, believed to have been consecrated by Sage Parasurama. The presiding deity of this 3500 year-old temple is Lord Subramanya in a four-armed form with a Vel (a divine spear) in one hand and a Vajrayudha (a divine weapon) in the other. This temple has the largest dhwajastambham (flag mast) among Kerala temples.
