Alappuzha

Alappuzha is one of the most celebrated backwater destinations in India. This green paradise invites travellers from around the world to soak in its lush beauty and dynamic festive spirit. Popularly known as the Venice of the East, this pretty little land is famed for boat race festivals, emerald backwaters, serene beaches, unique marine products, coir industry etc.

One should never leave Alappuzha without a laid back houseboat cruise through the tranquil Vembanad Lake watching, the calm and composed village life. You can take part in fishing, coir making, coconut climbing and many other exciting activities here.

Besides this, you can visit several pilgrim centres such as the 400-year-old Champakkulam church, Chavara Bhavan, Arthunkal Church and many more.
