Kaalan Kolam
Kaalan Kolam is different from other Padayani Kolams as they own a kingly status among all other Kolams. While performing Kaalan Kolams, the story of Markendaya from Shivapuranam is sung in most places.
In certain places, the story of Ajamila Mokasham and Siva Mahathmyam are also sung.
Usually, Kaalan Kolams are performed by the master artist as it requires a good sense of rhythm and flexibility.
