Kodi Cliff at Kottikulam near Bekal rises above a dramatic stretch of Kasaragod’s coastline, where laterite earth meets the Arabian Sea. The approach opens onto wide, dry grass patches before the land drops sharply toward rocky edges and sandy curves below. From the elevated ground, the coastline stretches in a long arc, blending beach, black rock formations and dense coconut groves into a continuous horizon.

Offshore, the twin rock formations known as Pandiyan Kallu stand apart from the mainland, surrounded by restless waves. Their dark surfaces contrast sharply with the deep blue sea, especially when viewed from above. Boats move steadily across open waters, leaving faint ripples that dissolve into the vastness. Closer to the shore, waves break against layered rock shelves, sending white foam across textured stone.

Along the beach, fishing boats line the sand in rows of bright colours. Nets are spread out, crews gather around the day’s catch, and the shoreline becomes a working landscape shaped by the rhythm of the sea.

As evening approaches, the sun lowers toward the horizon, casting a long reflection across the water. The sea turns bronze and deep blue in layers, and the rocks along the coast take on a warmer tone. Kodi Cliff becomes a natural viewing point for sunset, with open sky above and uninterrupted sea ahead. Located close to Bekal Fort and Kappil Beach, Kodi Cliff stands as one of northern Kerala’s striking coastal viewpoints, combining rugged terrain, fishing culture and expansive sea views in a single landscape.
