Korangatti is a breakfast dish popular among the tribal settlements of Kerala.

Ingredients

Ragi powder
Water

Method of preparation

Boil some water in  an earthen pot. When the water gets boiled keep some hot water from it for later use.  Add Ragi flour in the boiling water. Mix it well. Here at this juncture the natives skillfully use two hard sticks for mixing the Ragi. The pot is supported by a forked hard stick specially set apart for this purpose. Use the hot water kept aside to mix it well. See the dish, it’s a perfect paste with no grit to be seen. You get a dish almost like puddings. You might have observed the absence of the use of salt or sugar or any other ingredients in the preparation of this dish. When it is mixed well, serve it in a banana leaf and allow it to be cooled. It’s a bland dish and can be eaten alone or along with tribal side dishes like Senthal adaku, Chembadaku or Koyi Saru.
