Kottakkal Pooram - a spectacular cultural fiesta

The week long festival celebrated in the Malalayam month of Meenam (Mid March - Mid April) and the pooram day falls on Thiruvonam asterism.

The festival days are made colourful with a variety of cultural programmes. The eminent music maestros perform Hindustani and Carnatic music each day. The performance of Kathakali by PSV Natya Sangham and several eminent artiste make this festival a rare visual treat. The panchavadyam (traditional orchestra) performance is an awesome experience and people gather in hundreds to enjoy this.
