Pal Payasam

Pal Payasam is a sweet, milky delight that has been served in households across God’s Own Country for centuries. This divine mix of milk, rice and sugar is known for its silky and sugary texture that melts beautifully in your mouth. From kids to adults, people across Kerala have loved this dish for ages and the recipe below is sure to be an instant hit with your family.

Ingredients
De-husked Rice - 1/4 cup
Milk- 1 ½ litre
Sugar- ¾ kg
For Garnishing
Cashews- ¼ cup
Raisins - ¼ cup
Cardamom - 4
Ghee (for frying)

Method of Preparation
For something that tastes so delicious, Pal Payasam is really easy to make. All you need to do is mix all the ingredients together in a pressure cooker and cook on a high flame till you hear the first whistle.

Now lower the fire and cook for half an hour. Garnish and your dessert is ready to be savoured. You can serve it either straight off the fire or chilled.
