The Sree Andalur Kavu in Kerala is famous for its Theyyam based on the legendary epic, Ramayana. Theyyam's are ritual art forms where the Gods themselves are said to descend among the people and are extremely popular in the Southern state of India, Kerala. Kannur district is especially renowned for its myriad range of Theyyams, and these temple artforms attract large crowds from around the globe. It is here in the quaint village of Dharmadam, during February, that one gets to see this beautiful rendition the Yudha Kanda of Ramayana each year.
