Anand Haridas

Anand Haridas is a writer and media person. He has been a reporter with The Hindu for nearly 15 years before turning to creative writing. His poems appear regularly in publications and co-wrote the film ‘Viral Sebi’ with Sajitha Madathil, which was directed by award-winning filmmaker Vidhu Vincent. He has finished the translation of ‘Kumaru’ based on relatively unknown phase of poet Kumaranasan that he spent in Kolkata, ‘Shavamtheenikal’ a reportage on Prof. Eachara Warrier’s search for his missing son Rajan during the Emergency period – both books by C.R. Omanakuttan -- and ‘Kamakhya’, a new perspective on the life of Sage Vatsyayanan by new generation poet Pradeep Bhaskar. Anand’s translation of the play ‘Kaali Natakam’ by Sajitha Madathil was published in Indian Literature, the bi-monthly journal of the Kendra Sahitya Akademi and this is now part of the post graduate curriculum in MG University, Kannur University and in the syllabus of The Institute of English under the University of Kerala. His poems have appeared in many publications. Currently, he is the Creative Head of Vallath Education, a nationally acclaimed organisation in teaching English language and literature.
