Asha Thadani

Asha Thadani

Asha Thadani is a photographic artist. Her work focuses on people who live below the shiny surface that many of us skate along. Asha’s photographs are rooted in sociocultural/political themes that delve into the inner lives of remote indigenous tribes and marginalised communities who rarely find representation in mainstream media. For almost three decades, she has documented people at the lowest end of power hierarchies and the human-animal equation with the intent to start conversations about social disparities and the human condition.

Nominated for the Henri Cartier Bresson Award 2015, her work has been exhibited at Christie’s Auction House, Paris and the Albert Kahn Museum, Paris. She has exhibited solo at the Piramal gallery, Navjivan Trust, Ahmedabad, Travancore Palace, Delhi, NCPA, Mumbai and at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
