Ashim, 32 years, is a multi faceted explorer of life itself. From humble beginnings in a remote Tangkhul Naga village in Manipur, she has evolved into an adventurous expeditionary cyclist, a certified yoga instructor and a budding seamstress, with her own handcrafted home soft furnishings collection called ‘SHIM’. In 2023-24, she cycled, unsupported, with her husband, Dhruv Bogra, across more than 3000 kilometers of mountainous Himalayan roads from Kibithu / Kaho in Arunachal Pradesh to Kunzum La in Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, becoming the first Indian woman to do so. During the course of this nine month long expedition, she gained an elevation of more than 225,000 ft. and cycled to many high passes, with 30 kgs. of gear, playing a primary role in camp set ups and foraging the forests for plants to cook!
