Located around 45 km from the city of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, India, Meenmutty Falls gives a glimpse of natural beauty surrounded by the mountain ranges of Western Ghats.The waterfall is located upriver the Neyyar reservoir area and travellers, have to trek through the dense forests to reach the falls.
Adventurous minds are welcomed from here to an off-route trekking to top of Meenmutty Falls. To reach the destination one has to take a boat ride from Neyyar dam through its catchment area. And by reaching KombaiKani tribal settlement starts the trek towards the Meenmutty waterfalls, which is about 5 km from the settlement and KombaiKani waterfalls. Kombaikani waterfall is a wide fall on the course of the Neyyar River.
Close by is a forest camp house, where trekkers can take rest and have food. Forest guides will accompany you on this trek, which requires the permission of the forest department. An ideal destination for one-day trek and by evening the boat will pick you from KombaiKani and drop you back at Neyyar dam.
