Maliyekkal House, built in 1919 by Kadankandi Kuttiyamu Haji, is a heritage mansion in Thalassery with over 16 rooms, ornate woodwork, chandeliers, and patterned tiles reflecting the grandeur of trade and craftsmanship of its era. Beyond its architectural elegance, the house is remembered as a symbol of social reform, with P. M. Mariyumma, its eldest member, pioneering education and employment for Muslim women when such opportunities were rare.
