Nombu Thura

Nombu Thura

One of the five pillars of Islamic faith, fasting is a part and parcel of the lives of all believers, especially during the holy month of Ramzan. Fasting, a form of self-control, is believed to help one be more compassionate towards the less fortunate. During the days of fasting, in the evening, once prayers are offered, the fast is broken in a ceremony called Nombu Thura. This ceremony is often conducted as a social occasion as well.
