Also known as Nainar Mosque, Vavar Mosque is located in Erumeli in Kerala, at around 45 km from Sabarimala Temple. During the pilgrimage season at Sabarimala, thousands flock to this mosque as part of their journey, as it is customary for Lord Ayyappa devotees to pray here before embarking on their trek to Sabarimala.

Traditional Female Attire

Traditional Female Attire

Elderly women often wear simple yet graceful traditional outfits, usually in white with golden borders, paired with ornaments of gold. A headscarf, modest in style, complements the attire and embodies Mappila heritage, Islamic values of modesty, and Kerala’s timeless cultural aesthetic.
