Anjuruli is located in the high-range region of Idukki, where a rock-cut tunnel opens through a hillside and releases water into a pool below. The circular tunnel outlet is clearly visible in the rock face, with water flowing out and forming a compact waterfall that drops into a calm water body. The surrounding slope shows a mix of exposed rock surfaces and patches of vegetation, with denser tree cover extending along the sides.
At the base of the waterfall, the water spreads into a wider reservoir-like area with defined edges. The shoreline includes rocky sections and open ground, where pathways lead toward the water. A visible access road and parked vehicles indicate that the location is reachable and frequently visited. The terrain around the site combines forest cover, sloping land and cleared areas used for movement and viewing.
The tunnel is part of a water channel system that carries water from the Erattayar dam toward the Idukki reservoir. Anjuruli has become a known stop within Idukki’s high-range travel routes, often visited along with nearby dam viewpoints and forest areas. The site is accessible by road, and visitors usually approach the waterfall and reservoir edge on foot. Caution is required near the water outlet, especially during periods of higher discharge.
