A Symbol of Kerala's Craftsmanship

Aranmula Kannadi, a unique metal mirror considered as an auspicious object, is kept in households for bringing prosperity, luck and wealth. The secret behind its making is confined to only some households of master craftsmen in Aranmula, Pathanamthitta. As per traditions in Kerala, the Aranmula metal mirror forms part of the ashtamangalya set - one of the eight auspicious items that is usually arranged and displayed at functions like marriages.
