The Spectacular Water Regatta of God’s Own Country

A centuries-old carnival celebrated with much grandeur and passion by the people of God’s Own Country is the Boat Race or the Vallamkali. Held in the vast stretch of emerald backwaters, this glorious water regatta transforms Kerala into a land of dynamism and celebration. The banks of the pristine rivers and backwaters will be crowded with spectators cheering the oarsmen. Hundreds of oarsmen row the heavily decked snake boats making a visual extravaganza.
