Chathurangappara is located in the high-range region of Idukki near the Kerala–Tamil Nadu border, where a series of wind turbines are installed along an exposed ridge. From an elevated view, the turbines are positioned across the hilltop, connected by dirt access roads that run along the crest. The ridge shows a combination of rocky surfaces, grass-covered sections and patches of vegetation, with open clearings around the turbine bases.

Beyond the ridge, the landscape extends into forested hills and deeper valleys. The terrain gradually slopes downward on either side, with thicker tree cover visible in the lower areas and more exposed surfaces closer to the crest. The ridge forms a continuous line across the hill, with access tracks linking different points along its length. Light haze or mist can be seen across the distant hills, slightly reducing visibility while still allowing the terrain to be traced.

Chathurangappara functions as both a wind energy site and a viewpoint within Idukki’s high-range belt. The area is accessible by a short uphill drive of around 2 kilometres, followed by movement along the ridge. The open hilltop and continuous wind flow make it suitable for wind power generation. Visitors typically stop along the access roads or open areas near the turbines to view the surrounding hills and valleys.
