Maravanthuruthu, Kottayam
Located on the banks of the Muvattupuzha river in Kottayam district, Maravanthuruthu is a picturesque village rich in culture and tradition. It was here that the Responsible Tourism Mission launched its first STREET project, which aims at developing theme-based streets, as part of which the local community has developed water street, art street, flower street and cuisine street. The cleaned-up water bodies offer kayaking, country boat, coracle boating and shikara boat tours.
