Ritual theatre and dance drama - the Mudiyettu

Mudiyettu is a traditional ritual theatre and folk dance drama performed in the temples of Goddess Bhadrakali.  It is based on the mythological tale of a battle between the Goddess Kali and the demon Darika. The instruments played during the ritual include Veekku chenda, Uruttu chenda, Ilathaalam and Chengila.
