O. V. Vijayan Memorial, Palakkad

Visitors to O. V. Vijayan Memorial in Palakkad district will be virtually transported to Thasrak village that is imaginatively recreated in the epic novel Khasakkinte Itihasam. Vijayan, whose 91st birth anniversary falls on July 2, was an important figure in modern Malayalam literature, and his works set off a great literary revolution. An archway adorned with characters from the novel etched on granite pieces, a Njattupura which was used for keeping rice seeds and agricultural implements, a theatre which plays documentaries, films and memorial lectures, a photo and a cartoon gallery, and paintings and murals created by the writer are some of the attractions at the memorial.
