Thirayattom art form

Thirayattom art form

Thirayattom is an ethnic art form performed as part of festive celebrations at shrines in central Malabar. The dance is said to cast radiance by virtue of its gorgeous array, made all the more dazzling by the blaze of torches, made of clusters of dried coconut fronds. The performers assume the roles of divinities they hold in veneration.
