Where the sea begins

At Muthalapozhi, the river meets the sea and fishing boats head in and out through the estuary. But the place has acquired another rhythm in recent years. With the bridge, groynes and easy access to the waterfront, people now come here simply to watch the boats, feel the sea breeze and take in the meeting point of river and ocean. The working harbour hasn't gone anywhere - it has simply gained another audience.
