Thrikkakara Vamanamoorthy Temple, Ernakulam

The presiding deity of this temple is Lord Vamana, the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Situated in Ernakulam district, Thrikkakara Temple attracts pilgrims because of its mythical association with the harvest festival of Kerala, Onam.

The temple is famous for the beautiful engravings on the walls of its sanctum sanctorum. These depict traditional Onam celebrations dating back to nearly 2500 years.

The temple is considered the epicentre of Onam celebrations across Kerala. Many special rituals and rites are performed during this time of the year in the temple. Watch the video of Thiruvonamahotsavam

A notable feature of Onam celebrations at this temple is the traditional Onam feast served to all devotees.
