Iringole Bhagavathy Temple

Legend has it that the Goddess Bhagavathy once took the form of a baby girl and protected Lord Krishna from his evil uncle, Kamsa. Deep in the forest now lies a temple dedicated to her, where believers pay their respects and ask the Goddess for her divine protection. Located just 2 km away from Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district, the Iringole Kavu is spread over 50 acres and is among the most beautiful temples in the State. Locals believe that the surrounding area is protected by the Gods and the trek towards this forest temple is an ethereal experience in itself.
