Mannur Temple, Kozhikode

Exquisitely carved Gajaprathista - a styled laterite structure - at Mannur Temple, which is modelled like the Siva Temple at Tiruvannur, is more than two centuries old. It is believed that Sree Parashuraman starts his Siva Linga prathista at Tiruvannur and completes it here every noon. The noon pujas here are therefore considered very special. The annual Sivaratri festival is celebrated in a big way.
