Prawns Ilayada


Ingredients
Cleaned Prawns - 250 gm
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder -1 1/2 tsp
Salt
Coconut oil - 3 tsp
Onion sliced - 1
Ginger juliennes - 2 tsp
Curry leaves
Cinnamon & All spice leaf (powder) - 1 tsp
Green chilli (slit) - 3
Vinegar - 2 tsp

For the Dough
Raw rice - 500 gm
Salt

Method of Preparation
Soak the rice well for 4 to 6 hours and grind it to make a dough. Now we can make the filling. For this, take a pan and heat some oil. Put chopped ginger, green chillies and curry leaves to it and saute well. Then add chopped onion and salt. Saute it till the onion turns golden brown in colour. Now add powders of turmeric and red chilli. mix well. Next, add cleaned prawns and vinegar to it. Add some water and mix the ingredients well. Add some more salt if required. Stir occasionally and let the prawns get cooked. Now we can make the ada. Take a piece of plantain leaf and smear some oil on it. Put a small ball of the rice dough and spread it in the shape of a disc. Add masala powder to the cooked prawns and mix well. Now put a spoon of the prawn mix and spread it on one half of the ada dough. Fold the plantain leaf and after making sufficient numbers, steam them for about 15 minutes. Prawns Ilayada is ready.
