Moplah Bay

Moplah Bay, which lies near St Angelo Fort, is an important landmark of Kannur. It was built by the first Portuguese Viceroy of India.  It is a natural harbour protected by a sea wall projecting from the fort. 

During the regime of the Kolathiris, it was a commercial harbour. Today, it is a bustling fishing bay.
