Sun, sand and sea with a backdrop of Casuarinas trees- Chootad Beach facing Ezhimala is one of the most charming of beaches and yet remains relatively unnoticed on the tourism map of Kerala. It lies a few kilometers away from Pazhayangadi town in Kannur and is the ideal spot for those seeking peace and solitude.

Under the aegis of the District Tourism Promotion Council, there is a beach park and other facilities available here. In the river near the beach there are facilities for pedal boats and speed boats as well. A walk to the top weaving between the Casuarinas trees also offers one facilities to sit and relax with the soothing breeze.
