Malik Dinar Mosque, Kasaragod
Malik Dinar Mosque at Thalankara in Kasaragod district is believed to have been built in 642 CE by the Persian scholar and traveller Malik Ibn Dinar, who is credited with the propagation of Islam in Kerala. Built in Kerala style of architecture, the two-storeyed mosque has intricate carvings in Arabic etched on the wooden beams and pillars. The Uroos and a festival to commemorate the arrival of Dinar are the main celebrations at the mosque.
