Mattool Beach, located about 20 kilometres from Kannur town. The beach opens directly to the Arabian Sea, offering a wide stretch of sand and an unobstructed horizon. In the evening hours, the shoreline becomes a natural gathering space as the sun lowers over the water.

People are seen spread along the beach and near the waterline, standing, walking, or pausing by the waves. The sea remains calm and steady, with gentle waves reaching the shore. The open layout of the beach allows visitors to move freely, making it a comfortable place to spend time as daylight fades.

Mattool’s coastal setting is shaped by its proximity to the confluence of the Valapattanam River and the Kuppam River, which meet nearby before flowing into the sea. This meeting of waters has long defined the area. Today, the beach continues to draw visitors for its open views, accessible shoreline, and the simple experience of watching the day come to a close along Kerala’s northern coast.
