 Dandiyas are wooden sticks used in the Dandiya Raas dance, a lively folk dance of Gujarat performed during the festive season of Navarathri. The dance is also known as stick dance as it involves the rhythmical striking of these sticks. Dandiyas are also called dancing sticks and are personified as the swords of Goddess Durga. The Dandiyas made in various sizes, decorated with eye catching patterns in vibrant colours adds a dynamic and visual element to the already lively dance.
