At Kanjiramittam, near Ernakulam, the shrine of Shaikh Fariduddin Khurasani attracts pilgrims.
The mosque, located about 25 km southeast of Kochi in Ernakulam District, was built in honor of the revered Sufi saint Sheikh Fariduddin. The peaceful atmosphere of the mosque is further enriched by the presence of mazhars and dargahs, making it a prominent spiritual site.
The highlight of this mosque is the annual Kanjiramattom Kodikuthu festival, celebrated in January. A key ritual of the festival is the Chandanakkudam procession, where devotees carry pots adorned with sandalwood paste as a tribute to the saint. The festivities also feature caparisoned elephants and traditional Muslim folk performances like Duffmuttu and Kolkali, adding vibrant cultural flair to the event.
