Koottu Kari, a popular vegetarian Tribal Cuisine of Kerala.
Cut pieces of raw banana - 2 nos
Carrots - 1
Grated coconut - half of a coconut
Chickpea - 100 g
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Green chilli - 4 to 5 pieces
Coconut oil - 2 tsp
Small onion - 2 nos
Salt to taste
Method of preparation
Heat some water in a vessel. Into this put chickpea followed by cut pieces of raw banana. Stir a bit. Next add pieces of carrot. Cover the vessel and cook for some more time. After this uncover the vessel and add split green chillies. Add salt. After this add grated coconut and stir well. Finally add some and stir well. If required add some water.
In another vessel, take some oil and add the chopped pieces of small onion and stir gently. Then, add this to the Koottu kari preparation already cooked and kept aside. Stir a bit.
