Kottayi

Kottayi is a small village in central Kerala, situated about 15 kms from Palakkad district. The place has a fine history of culture. It is the birthplace of the great Carnatic musician Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar. The place hosts the annual Chembai Parthasarathy Ekadasi music festival in February/March in memory of the great singer. Renowned singers perform music concerts here during the festival.
