Dhoni is a reserve forest with its misty mountains just 12 km from Palakkad town. The trek from the base area is a three hour trip to the reserve forest area where the view is extremely beautiful and is rich in wildlife like elephant, tiger, deer and other animals. The best time to visit Dhoni is soon after the monsoon rains, as the waterfalls are full and it overflows with beautiful small streams gushing down to Malampuzha dam side.
