Locally known as Kadalpalam, Thalassery Pier in Kannur district extends out into the Arabian Sea and was used as a commercial access point to transport goods to and from Tellicherry Bazar during the European rule. The Thalassery pier holds an important place in the development of the town as a commercial centre. Now it is a serene picnic spot frequented by both locals and tourists alike.
