Varayadumotta is a mountain ridge some 40 kilometers from Thiruvananthapuram city. As the name itself suggests, it is home to a small population of Nilgiri tahr, known locally as varayadu. One can see Varayadumotta from Ponmudi, the hill station more popular among the tourists.
