The establishment of Kerala's first government-sponsored surfing school, 'Aventura', has placed Beypore on the map as a prime surfing destination, attracting wave riders from across India and beyond.

The Beypore Surfing Club, managed by the Youth Welfare Multipurpose Society with support from the Kerala Tourism Department, Responsible Tourism Mission and Kozhikode District Tourism Promotion Council, is led by ten internationally certified trainers. These experts provide professional guidance to both beginners and experienced surfers, offering an opportunity to learn and master the art of wave riding in Kerala's coastal waters.

With its consistent waves and picturesque coastline, Beypore's Gotheeswaram Beach has become a perfect surfing destination. The launch of 'Aventura' aims to popularise surfing among adventure seekers, particularly those from landlocked states who may not have access to ocean waves. The initiative is expected to draw international attention, positioning Beypore as a major adventure tourism center in India.

Beyond surfing, the school is also boosting the local economy. Shri. P. A. Mohamed Riyas, Minister, Kerala Tourism, encouraged local entrepreneurs to establish homestays, eateries, and tourism services, allowing residents to benefit from the influx of visitors. The expansion of adventure tourism is set to create employment opportunities along with affirming Kerala's commitment to sustainable tourism.

Beypore's rising status as an adventure hub is further highlighted by the Beypore International Water Festival, which took place in January 2025. This grand event featured thrilling water sports, including surfing demonstrations, sea rafting, windsurfing, kayaking, and sailing regattas. Visitors witnessed professional surfers showcasing their skills, reinforcing Beypore's reputation as a leading adventure sports destination in India.
