Poonkudil Mana, on the way from Manjeri to Perinthalmanna, is an ancient Brahmin house built in the traditional architectural style. It is renowned for its ancient methods of treatment for mental illness. Mamburam, known as a pilgrim centre, houses the shrines and mausoleums of Muslim religious leaders called Thangals. The small, coastal village of Tanur and the beaches of Vallikkunnu and Vakkadu are some of the other lesser known places that offer charming natural sights.
