Pullooppikkadavu is a riverside area located close to Kannur town, where the river opens out into a broad, calm expanse surrounded by wetlands and low-lying greenery. From above, the scale of the waterbody becomes clear, with the river extending gently into the landscape and forming a natural boundary between habitation and open water.

Along one edge of the river, a curved walkway traces the shoreline, connecting the land to the water. Floating platforms extend outward from this point, arranged in measured intervals across the river surface. These structures create a visual rhythm on the water while remaining unobtrusive within the wider setting.

The surrounding area is marked by dense coconut groves, scattered houses, and narrow roads running parallel to the river. The settlement remains closely tied to the water, with no sharp separation between the built environment and the wetland landscape. Boats and small platforms visible across the river reflect everyday river use rather than organised activity.

This aerial view highlights Pullooppikkadavu’s character as a quiet riverside space shaped by water, vegetation, and gradual development. Its proximity to Kannur allows visitors to experience an open backwater landscape without travelling far from the town, making it a natural pause point within the district’s wider tourism circuit.
