Terms and Conditions


  1. The Contest is organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala, ("Kerala Tourism") Park View, Thiruvananthapuram, India and is being executed by the ICT Solution Provider of Kerala Tourism, M/s Invis Multimedia Pvt. Ltd (the "Consultant"'), Pandit Colony, Kaudiar, Thiruvananthapuram, India.
  2. The online painting competition (the "Contest") is open to all children around the world who have completed the age of 4 years and is below 16 years of age (born on/after 01.09.2002 and on/before 01.09.2014). The Contest begins on 1st September 2018 and the closing date for receipt of entries will be 31st December 2018 midnight (IST) ("Contest Period"). All dates are subject to change.
  3. The entrant can register only once but she/he can submit upto five entries, if she/he desires to do so. There is no entry fee for this contest.
  4. The children participating in this contest (Entrant) must have obtained their parents' or legal guardians' permission to enter the contest. Only parents or legal guardians of children can register on behalf of their children and submit the entries. They are requested to read the terms & conditions carefully prior to entry to ensure that the entrant, as well as the representative, understand and agree because these Rules form a legally binding agreement with respect to this Contest.
  5. Anybody who has attained the age of 18 and legally capable of entering into a contract can register as a promoter for this contest. The name/registration number of promoter can be added to the registration form of the candidate if he/she joins the contest at the initiative of the promoter. The act is voluntary, and no remuneration of any nature will be paid to promoters. However promoters bringing in maximum number of contestants are eligible to get prizes.
  6. The entrant is expected to paint a picture from our website www.keralatourism.org with the theme of 'Kerala' manually on paper using crayons, color pencils, sketch pens or paint and brush. Any picture generated with digital, electronic or mechanical tools will not be accepted for the competition. The painting should be uploaded to the Kerala Tourism contest page (file size cannot exceed 5 MB) using the registered login id and password.
  7. The theme of entry should be strictly related to 'Kerala', a state of the Republic of India. The website www.keralatourism.org has more than 5000 images and almost 4000 videos. Any image, video or similar content from this website can be used as a reference for the painting.
  8. Kerala Tourism accepts no responsibility for submissions that are lost, delayed, damaged, defaced, or mislaid, howsoever they are caused. Sending e- mail will not be accepted as proof of entry.
  9. Kerala Tourism and its Consultant are not responsible for any malfunction of the contest website or the server hosting the site or malfunction/failure of telecommunication transmission, network connectivity, hardware/software failures of any kind.
  10. The contest entry must not:
    1. Contain content, material or any element that is unlawful, or otherwise in violation of, or contrary to, all applicable national, state, or local, laws and regulations.
    2. Use any content, material or element that is owned by a third party or entity or that violates a third party's publicity, privacy or intellectual property rights.
  11. In case of any fraud or mischief found on the part of the entrant, he/she will be deemed to be disqualified from this Contest.
  12. The entrant should retain the original painting and should submit the original painting at his/her expense to Kerala Tourism or Consultant as and when demanded.
  13. A screening committee will be formed with at least two artists or art critics. This committee will screen the entries and select the best 2000 entries. However, Kerala Tourism reserves the right to decide the number of entries to be published in the website after screening.
  14. The judging committee will have at least three members and will be formed with eminent people, painters, people writing children's literature, and/or art critics. The committee will contain one or more members from the screening committee. The judging committee will decide the winners.
  15. Kerala Tourism reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the Contest, including prizes, extending or discontinuing the contest without notice, without assigning any reason at its sole and absolute discretion and without any liability. Kerala Tourism also reserves the right to cancel the contest partly or fully or modify the contest partly or fully without assigning any specific reason any time. Decision of Kerala Tourism in all matters relating to this Contest shall be final and binding.
  16. All national, state and local laws and regulations within the boundary of the Republic of India will be applicable. The Secretary, Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala will be the final authority to decide and/or settle any dispute of whatsoever nature arising out of or connected to this contest and the decision of the Secretary will be final and non-appealable in all such matters.
  17. By participating in this contest, the entrant agrees to give Kerala Tourism a royalty-free, irrevocable, transferable, assignable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, creative derivative works for promotional or marketing purposes.
  18. Entrants agree that personal data submitted for the contest, including name, and all contact details may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used by Kerala Tourism, or it's Consultants for the purposes of conducting and administering the Contest or for the marketing or promotional activities of Kerala Tourism.
  19. The Entrant indemnifies and agrees to keep indemnified Kerala Tourism and its Consultants permanently from and against any liability, claims, demands, losses, damages, and expenses resulting from any act, default or omission of the Entrant and/or a breach of any warranty set forth herein.

Winners and Prize Distribution

  1. First, Second and Third prizes-Certificate and Memento. In addition to that, the following prizes will be there in each category:
    1. Participants from outside India (number of prizes:10)
      1. Major Prize: Memento with certificate and a tour package to visit destinations in Kerala divided into five nights for the entrants and his/her family subject to a maximum of 3 people. The package will cover travel, accommodation and food.
    2. Participants from India but outside Kerala (number of prizes:5)
      1. Major Prize: Memento with certificate and a tour package to visit destinations in Kerala divided into five nights for the entrants and his/her family subject to a maximum of 3 people. The package will cover travel, accommodation and food.
      2. Consolation Prize: Cash prize of Rs.10,000/- each to 25 winners from India.
    3. Participants from Kerala
      1. Consolation Prize: Cash prize of Rs.10,000/- each to 40 winners from Kerala.
  2. All other participants will be issued a digital Certificate of Participation which can be downloaded by the entrant. There is no cash alternative and the prizes must be taken as offered.

Prizes for Promoters

  1. Five promoters from outside India who brings in maximum number of entrants to the contest (Five day package for each of the five winning promoters).
  2. Five promoters from within India but outside Kerala who brings in maximum number of entrants to the contest (Five day package for each of the five winning promoters).
