In case you are feeling a little nervous or it is a first-time experience, you can request the instructor to take control of the vehicle for a shorter ride instead of a longer solo session.
The sea might be calm one moment and very rough the next. Do not take the risk of riding during these conditions if you see the waves are high, it is raining heavily or the operator is not giving permission for the ride.
Besides wearing a correctly fitting life jacket, you should also hold the handles tightly with your hands and follow the instructor's signals. You should never try to perform stunts or make sudden turns without the help of the instructor.
Put away your phones, wallets, and cameras safely on the shore or in a locker. Water will be splashed a lot and it is quite possible that you may fall.
