Para motoring (alternatively, paramotoring) in Kerala is primarily about sailing over the ocean with the help of a powered paraglider, a device that was most likely taken off from the cliffside helipad at Varkala. Rather than flying into the hills, one flies over beaches, laterite cliffs and the Arabian Sea, which is a completely different experience compared to most other paragliding locations in India.
Most of the time, the flights are tandem ones, i.e., a person is connected to a certified pilot who is in control of the wing and the motor. Usually, 10–15 minutes is the length of a routine experience, which means you will have the time to ascend, fly over the coast and land, while looking at cliffs, cafés, beaches and the sea from the sky.
Firstly, the main season is from October to March when the wind and weather are appropriate for flying. People generally choose the timings of their slots for very early morning or late afternoon because the air is more stable and the light is better at that time. Booking in advance is highly recommended because there are only a few slots available each day, and flights are dependent on wind conditions.

Should you be anxious or unfamiliar with aero sports, do not hesitate to inform the staff as they would be able to keep the flight calmer and avoid sudden turns.
It is wise to reserve your slot in advance and keep some flexibility in your plan, as flights may be rescheduled or cancelled due to unsafe winds.
Really pay attention to the safety instructions, put on your helmet and harness properly and obey the pilot's directions, especially during the take-off and landing.
Put on closed shoes and opt for comfortable clothes. Do not wear loose scarves or items that can blow into the wing or lines.
